Dear Scotland!!!

Aberdeen

Oh, Winter's come to us all,
after Fall,
in the City of the Dee and Don
Mighty's work is done.
rain, wind, sleet, downpour
ice and snow - white contour

Ah, Spring is the next one to be
we shall soon see,
Duthie, Hazlehead and Seaton are to bloom
for the flowers, plenty of room
mild, haar and cool are words to be said
as thunder and gales will already have fled

Ah, Summer, Summer a thousand times
at least for the rhymes, aye!
dry and cool - never even warm, ever
in the sea, bottle-nose dolphins are the clever
sunsbeams might be rare, only for the sheeps and cows
for there, we shall only see clouds

Autumn, the fairest one of all,
when wee leaves fall,
stronger winds gusts come around to blow
the amber and red leaves which are the stars to glow
for once the year is almost gone
and another Winter is about to come.

THE VOYAGE

DAY ONE
The day has come and I am ready for it. It’s 4 am now and she waits for me at the docks. The weather looks favourable to begin my voyage upon this giant sea – The Pacific Ocean.
It has been one hour since I left home, the sea has smooth waters…

Tuesday 7 April 2009

Help us write the story of a brave sailor (above)

The story above is for anyone who wishes to continue the quest of a brave sailor who defied the rough waters of the Pacific Ocean.

Wordsworth, William - COMPOSED UPON WESTMINSTER BRIDGE, SEPT. 3, 1802

EARTH has not anything to show more fair:
Dull would he be of soul who could pass by
A sight so touching in its majesty:
This City now doth, like a garment, wear
The beauty of the morning; silent, bare,
Ships, towers, domes, theatres, and temples lie
Open unto the fields, and to the sky;
All bright and glittering in the smokeless air.
Never did sun more beautifully steep
In his first splendour, valley, rock, or hill; 10
Ne'er saw I, never felt, a calm so deep!
The river glideth at his own sweet will:
Dear God! the very houses seem asleep;
And all that mighty heart is lying still!

EUROPEAN ENGLISH

The European Comission has just announced an agreement whereby English will be the official language of the European Union rather than German, which was the other possibility.
As part of the negotiations, the British Government conceded that English spelling had some room for improvement and has accepted a 5-year phase-in plan that would become known as "Euro-English."
In the first year, "s" will replace the soft "c". Sertainly, this will make the sivil servants jump with joy. The hard "c" will be dropped in favor of "k". This should klear up konfusion, and keyboards kan have one less letter. There will be growing publik enthusiasm in the sekond year when the troublesome "ph" will be replaced with "f". This will make words like "fotograf" 20% shorter.
In the third year, publik akceptanse of the new spelling kan be expekted to reach the stage where more komplikated changes are possible.
Government will enkourage the removal of double letters which have always ben a deterent to acurate speling.
Also, al wil agre that the horibl mes of the silent "e" in the languag is disgrasful and it should go away.
By the fourth yar people wil be reseptiv to steps such as replasing "th" with "z" and "w" with "v".
During ze fifz yer, ze unesesary "o" kan be dropd from vords kontaining "ou" and after ziz fifz yer, ve vil hav a reil sensibl riten styl.
Zer vil be no mor trubl or difikultis and evrivun vil find it ezi to understand ech oza. Ze drem of a united urop vil finali kum tru.
Und efter ze fifz yer, ve vil al be speking German like zey vunted in ze forst plas.
